Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CertifyCrafter (the "Service"), operated by CertifyCrafter ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CertifyCrafter. You represent that you are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. Description of Service

CertifyCrafter is an online platform that allows users to create, customize, and download bulk PDF certificates. The Service includes:

• A certificate editor supporting custom titles, recipient names, dates, branding, and templates.
• Batch generation of print-ready PDF certificates for multiple recipients in a single operation.
• Publicly accessible verification pages for certificates generated from a paid credit balance, enabling recipients and third parties to confirm authenticity.
• A credit-based system ("certificate balance") through which users purchase credits to generate certificates beyond the free allocation.
• Account management features including sign-in via email/password or third-party OAuth providers (e.g., Google).

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

3. Accounts and Registration

Creating an account is optional to use the basic features of CertifyCrafter; however, an account is required to purchase credit packs, retain a persistent certificate balance, re-download previously generated certificates, and access verified certificate pages.

When you register, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate and current.
• Keep your password confidential and not share it with any third party.
• Notify us immediately at support@certifycrafter.com of any unauthorized use of your account or any other security breach.
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account, whether or not you authorized them.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, contain false information, or have been inactive for an extended period, at our sole discretion.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:

• Generate certificates containing fraudulent, misleading, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or otherwise unlawful content.
• Use the Service to impersonate any person, organization, or credential-granting institution in a way that is deceptive or harmful.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, its servers, or any related systems or networks.
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise automatically extract data from the Service without our prior written consent.
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it, or interfere with other users' enjoyment of the Service.
• Introduce viruses, trojans, worms, or other malicious or technologically harmful material into the Service.
• Resell, sublicense, or distribute certificates or Service outputs in violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
• Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security features of the Service.

CertifyCrafter is a tool for legitimate use cases such as educational completions, training programs, event participation, and organizational recognition. Any use intended to deceive, defraud, or mislead recipients or third parties is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination and reporting to applicable authorities.

5. Intellectual Property

Our Content

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, templates, and all other content created by CertifyCrafter (collectively, "Our Content"), is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service solely for the purposes described in these Terms.

Your Content

You retain all intellectual property rights in the content you provide to generate certificates, including names, logos, branding, and text ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant CertifyCrafter a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to process and store Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service.

You represent and warrant that Your Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights and that you have all rights, licenses, and permissions required to upload and use such content with the Service.

Generated Certificates

Certificates generated using the Service are your output and you own them, subject to the limitations of this license. CertifyCrafter templates embedded in generated certificates remain our intellectual property; you may use generated certificates for their intended purpose (issuing to recipients) but may not commercially reproduce, license, or re-sell the template designs themselves.

6. Payments and Credits

Credit Packs

CertifyCrafter offers purchasable credit packs ("Packs") that add certificates to your account balance. All purchases are one-time payments; there are no recurring subscriptions. Credits are denominated in whole certificates and have no cash value.

Pricing and Taxes

All prices are displayed in US dollars unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change prices at any time; price changes will not affect credits already purchased. You are responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, or charges imposed by your jurisdiction in connection with your purchase.

Payment Processing

Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Paddle. By purchasing a Pack, you agree to Paddle's terms of service and privacy policy. CertifyCrafter does not store your payment card details.

Credit Expiry

Purchased credits do not expire. Free credits granted at account creation may be subject to expiry as described at the time of grant.

Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CERTIFYCRAFTER DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; (b) the results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable; or (c) any errors in the Service will be corrected. You use the Service at your own risk.

CertifyCrafter makes no representations or warranties regarding the legal recognition, enforceability, or acceptance of any certificate generated using the Service in any jurisdiction. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that any certificates you issue comply with applicable laws and the requirements of intended recipients.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CERTIFYCRAFTER, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL CERTIFYCRAFTER'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO CERTIFYCRAFTER IN THE TWELVE MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $10.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CertifyCrafter and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and successors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) Your Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@certifycrafter.com. Note that termination does not automatically entitle you to a refund of unused credits; please review our Refund Policy.

Sections 5, 7, 8, 9, 12, and 13 of these Terms survive any termination or expiration.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, by sending an email to your registered address or displaying a notice in the Service). Your continued use of the Service after the revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

If you do not agree with any revised Terms, you should stop using the Service.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CertifyCrafter is registered, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in that jurisdiction for the resolution of any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.

Before initiating formal legal proceedings, you agree to contact us at support@certifycrafter.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
